The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security is now accepting applications for the 2027 DrPH Health Security Track Scholarship. The grant will be a one-time $10k award per student. Up to 2 students will receive the award in 2027. The scholarship, supported by grant funding from Coefficient Giving, aims to support DrPH students who are focusing part or all of their DrPH research on issues related to Global Catastrophic Biological Risks (GCBRs), such as severe pandemics.  

Qualifying Students: 

• You must be a current JHSPH DrPH Health Security Track student.
• Your proposed DrPH research focus must include at least one component focusing on GCBRs 

Timing of Award: 

• Applications are due November 6th at 11:59 Eastern Time. Decisions will be made in November 30th, 2026.

Suggested Use of Funds: 

• Funds will be provided in a lump sum to the awardee. There is no restriction on the use of funds, but the intended use is to offset research expenses, pay for academic related travel or supplies, or offset tuition expenses during proposal preparation and dissertation research. 

Application Process: 

• To apply, you will need:
  • A 2-page cover letter detailing the topic you intend to focus on in your DrPH studies and research, including what GCBR-related research you will include; and how you intend to use the funds.
  • Your CV
• Applications will be evaluated by Center for Health Security faculty.
  • Students are only eligible to receive an CG DrPH grant once throughout their DrPH program. If you apply for this grant and are not selected, you are allowed to re-apply in future years if you meet the qualification criteria above.
